Payment Issues: What to Do When Your Payment is Not Accepting?

Due to payments for Malaysian eVisas being done online, several payment-related issues may appear.

The following problems may occur when you make an online payment for an e-visa to Malaysia:

  • Payment keeps being Declined- The online payment for the Malaysian eVisa is not functioning at that moment.
  • Issues with the Web Browser- The website used for eVisas to Malaysia is down.
  • If the applicant gives the wrong information,
  • If the applicant submits fraudulent records.

Things to do: A Payment Page Error When Making a Payment for eVisa Malaysia:

  • To make your payment, try to use a different Bank Credit Card;
  • Inform the local bank about the payment problem;
  • Delete the cache and history from your web browser;

Photo Requirements for Malaysia eVisa

  • Malaysia visa photo sizes: 35mm in width by 50mm in height.
  • Applicant’s face should take up 60% to 70% of the visa photo.
  • The recommended distance between the chin's bottom and the head's top should be between 25mm and 30mm.
  • The distance between your head and the image's top must be around 5 mm.

What is the photo issue for Malaysia eVisa

No shadows, reflections, overexposure, or underexposure in the photo. No unique features, such as a mark or scar, may be altered out of the photo. You should retake the photo if there is a red eye; do not remove it through editing. The image has to be printed on premium photo paper.

Passport Issue for Malaysia eVisa

  • Passport biodata page with a validity of at least more than 6 months from travel date;
  • The minimum required blank passport page is three (3).

If I am staying at a friend or relative's house, what documentation do I need to bring?

You may write a brief cover letter to the immigration officer addressing the officer with your information and the place where you want to stay in Malaysia.

Please also provide the personal information of your friends or relatives (name, phone number, and identity card number).

What format should I use for my eVisa cover letter?

These cover letters don't have any particular formats. It is best to write a brief letter explaining your situation and addressing it to the immigration officer for their consideration.

If I'm only visiting Malaysia for a few hours and won't stay overnight, what should I input in the "Address in Malaysia" field?

Please provide the ‘Malaysian International Airport’ address in the application's address field. To write a cover letter detailing a brief stopover and the reason for not staying overnight in Malaysia.

Is it possible for me to enter Malaysia using my (laptop or mobile) digital visa printout?

No, the eVisa Note printout is required.

If my departure date changes within six months, do I need to reapply for an eVisa?

No, you do not need to apply for a fresh eVisa application within six months of the date wherein the Malaysian High Commission, Embassy, or Consulate accepted the first visa to enter the country.

Note: Your current eVisa will expire after six months, therefore you will need to reapply; if your departure date changes, and the new date is after 6 months.

Which entrance and exit checkpoints allow visa holders to enter Malaysia with eVisa?

With eVISA, you can enter and exit Malaysia by any gazette Malaysia Entry Exit Point.

How do tourists verify the expiration date on their eVisas?

To verify the validity period, check the "issue date" and "expiration date" columns in the eVisa notes.

How long in advance should I apply for an eVisa?

We suggest applying for your eVISA at least two weeks before your planned trip to Malaysia.
